Navdy with HARMAN joins forces with Groupe Renault to deliver a new driving experience

It’s been less than a year since we first started shipping Navdy, and already we’ve hit a number of key milestones: Our community has driven over 45 million miles in more than 100 countries, and having launched on Amazon, we’re now in the process of rolling into Best Buy stores nationwide.

But we’re not done yet: Today, we’re announcing our first partnership with a major automotive manufacturer—Groupe Renault, part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance—continuing the momentum we’ve built thus far.

Thanks to record sales in the first half of this year, the Renault-Nissan Alliance has become the world’s largest carmaker, topping both Volkswagen and Toyota. In fact, the alliance accounts for 1 in 10 vehicles sold globally.

Back in 2016, we partnered with HARMAN Connected Services and gave the company exclusive rights to sell a co-branded, aftermarket head-up display to automotive OEMs, specialty auto/audio, and select mobile carrier channels globally. This deal with Groupe Renault marks the results of that partnership, and we’re thrilled to bring our “Navdy with HARMAN” head-up display to the French market and beyond. Our goal is to give all drivers a better driving experience, regardless of where they live in the world, and partnering with Groupe Renault is a great step in this quest.

“Driver safety has always been of the utmost importance to us,” said Barbara Thierart-Perrin, Program Director, Accessories & Merchandising of Groupe Renault. “At the same time, we appreciate that our customers want to stay connected with family and friends while on the move. As soon as we saw Navdy with HARMAN, we knew it would solve the problem of keeping drivers connected without having to take their eyes off the road. Thanks to the Navdy with HARMAN design, we are pleased to offer it to both our new and existing customers to improve their driving experience.”

Launching this October, the French language version of Navdy with HARMAN will be exclusively available from Groupe Renault and can be installed in any car, including those from Renault and Dacia. The device will initially be available in France, with Germany, Spain, and Italy following in early 2018.

“We’re truly thrilled that, thanks to our partnership with HARMAN, we’ve been able to work with Groupe Renault to bring the Navdy with HARMAN experience to an all-new audience,” said Doug Simpson, Founder and CEO of Navdy. “The fact that an automaker as large as Groupe Renault has put its faith in our product makes me tremendously proud. This is another huge step for us as a company.”

At Navdy, we strive to meet the needs of our community and we encourage our drivers to continue providing feedback, helping us deliver new features and refine the driving experience further. Our community has been integral to landing this partnership with Groupe Renault. It’s a huge honor, and it bookends a fantastic first 12 months on the market. There’s lots more to come, too. Our mission to make sure all drivers Look Forward™ is only just beginning.
