Senior Android Engineer

As an Android Engineer at Navdy you'll develop and expand Navdy's Android application leveraging the latest features of Android and integrating with the Navdy head up display and core services of the phone.

Responsibilities and Skills

  • Android application expert with a mastery to Android best practices and design patterns
  • Equally comfortable creating a refined UI and user experience and developing Android services and platform subsystems
  • Thrives in an agile collaborative environment working closely with designers, product managers, hardware and software engineers and responding to user feedback
  • Capable of initiating a large new project, product or initiative with little or no supervision and direction
  • Very capable of constructing thoughtful evaluations of hardware components, architectural solutions, and 3rd party libraries, constructing thoughtful experiments and analyzing the results
  • Establishes, encourages and enforces sound development practices across a team to maximize the system's quality, robustness, and maintainability
  • Capable of quickly evaluating and incorporating new technologies to improve the systems capabilities, performance or quality
  • Makes sound judgments about when to re-architect, replace, or modify systems, 3rd party solutions or other components.


  • Loves craftsmanship and showing mastery of the skills in their area of responsibility
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science preferred
  • At least 4 years creating Android applications with demonstrable applications in the Play Store
  • Experience working in software development teams using automated builds, automated tests, and code reviews
  • Java expert, experience in Kotlin is a plus
  • Experience with Bluetooth, Android HAL, Google Maps and Places API and building a high impact user-centric application a big plus

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Support Representative provides the utmost support to customers in a quick and efficient manner while reporting customer trends and feedback to their manager.

What you will do at Navdy:

  • Promptly attend to customers' inquiries via email, chat, phone, social media, video conference and other means of communication determined by the department and business' needs. (94%)
  • Effectively and empathetically own customer inquiries and requests, seeing them through to completion.
  • Adapt to customer and business needs as we launch and scale production of Navdy.
  • Work with external Navdy teams to identify and log product issues and customer feedback via Jira. (3%)
  • Continuously develop and update self-help articles and guides. (3%)
  • Provide feedback to manager on how to improve customer experience and departmental flows.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Adaptable to a fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to continually learn, obtain information, and retain information essential to helping customers and address their inquiries.
  • Initiative to seek tasks when core principle duties and responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • Ability to meet Service Level Agreements as defined by their manager.
  • Experience with Zendesk, Jira, and Google Docs is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a group environment.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, evenings, and/or weekends.
  • Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
